Abacus is active in the design and development of large aerospace avionics systems,
including guidance, navigation and control, telemetry, surveillance, displays and
controls, and radar systems. We participate in every aspect of a project, from
requirements definition to test and integration.
Abacus develops radar and telemetry applications for shipboard and airborne systems. We
implemented a radar simulator for a shipboard electronic warfare system which played an
important role in the Persian Gulf. Portions of a telemetry processing system were created
for a satellite astronomical observatory which is yielding information on the presence of
black holes.
Abacus knows guidance, navigation and flight control systems. We develop aircraft and
ship-based systems as well as missile and space applications in a variety of languages,
including many in Ada and C++.
We are leaders in the design and development of display and control systems, with major
responsibilities for the on-board displays and controls of the Space Shuttle Orbiter.
We are test and integration specialists. Abacus researches techniques and creates tools
to aid in the testing of avionics systems such as those we are using in the verification
and validation of the Space Shuttle Orbiter vehicle.
